Our Wedding

There are lots of options for accommodation for any budget in Parksville! Below are options closest to us and the shuttle pick-up point, but please choose whatever option is best for you.

Hotels + Motels with a Group Rate

Below are the hotels where we have arranged for a group booking. You have until May 9th, 2025 to get the group rate (a slightly lower rate and they’ve waived the $50 fee per extra person). All properties below are in walking distance from the shuttle pick-up and drop off location. If you have any trouble booking, please let us know.

We do encourage you to book accommodation in advance as the Sand Castle Competition is starting the same weekend, so Parksville will be busy!

This is the motel where we will be staying and where the ceremony is! Vibe: Retro and super charming. Right on the water.

Sea Edge Motel

If you love mini-golf, rent here! You get unlimited access to the mini-golf courses. Great choice for folks with kids. Rooms sleep 2-4 people.

Tide's Inn

A little quieter, a little more modern. Still get access to free mini-golf! If you have any mobility needs, this is the better choice. Rooms sleep 2-4 people.

There are camp sites at Rathtrevor Beach, Englishman River Falls and 3 sisters ranch. All require a car/ride to get to and from the venue or shuttle pick-up spot.

If you are bringing an RV, you can book here! Walking distance to shuttle pick-up spot.

Paradise RV Park

Why not stay in a Yurt in Errington, close to the venue?

Accommodation

BC Ferries

If traveling from Vancouver you will want to catch a ferry to Nanaimo (not Victoria). We STRONGLY recommend booking a ferry reservation in advance and to car pool if possible. Remember you need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your reservation (they are super strict about this). Travel to/from each Venue

Our ceremony will take place at the Sea Edge Hotel. Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, buses will take guests to the reception at Errington Hall (a 10 minute drive). If you wish to drive to the ceremony, please park in the underground parking at the Beach Club next door to Sea Edge Hotel or across the street in the public parking lot. There are a very limited number of parking spots at the Sea Edge that we are prioritizing for guests with mobility challenges or children.

A 50 person shuttle will be going back and forth from the venue to Parksville as needed from 10:00 pm until the last shuttle at 1:30 am. If you took a shuttle out and would like to leave earlier, a taxi can be booked. Please indicate in your RSVP whether you will be riding on the bus with us.

If you are driving from the ceremony to the reception, there is parking in front of the hall. Make ensure you have a designated driver! Cars can be left overnight at the hall if you change your mind and want to take the shuttle back.

Flights

If you are flying into B.C., you can fly directly to Nanaimo (YCD) but it will most likely be cheaper to fly to Vancouver (YVR). If you need help booking your flights or arranging transportation please let us know.

Island Transit

This is not a good option, but if you need it it’s available. First you will need to catch the 25 or 20 to the bus depot, from there the 30 or 91 to Parksville.   Please, please don’t do this to yourselves. We are sure we can find you a better option.

Parksville Beach Fest

Lovely hike and a beautiful campground. One of many great places to go for a hike.

Englishman River Falls

Super cool caves that you can book a tour to explore. "Drums, drums in the deep..."

Horne Lake Caves

Surprisingly great market with cute goats on the roof! A lot more Van Island bumper stickers will make sense after visiting this place.

There are lots of places to swim including Rathtrevor Beach, Qualicum Beach, and Spider Lake.

Photo Wall

As a gift, we would love it if you brought a printed photo of yourselves during a favourite moment you have with us. We don’t need any photos of us, but we’d love to have more of your beautiful faces! Photos can be placed in a photo wall at the venue.

We’ve always dreamt of going to the Atacama desert in Chile. The poetry of stargazing and a dark history of authoritarian rule? Sounds like a Jesster holiday.

St. Patrick's Pub

Born out of the new BC liquor laws that allow home-brew to be served at weddings, St. Patrick's Pub is a bar and event space. Situated in a run-down church, every Saturday will feature a wedding of either people who know each other, or random volunteers. Speeches will be improvised by local comedians, as if they are close friends, followed by wedding revelry. An annulment brunch will be served the following Sunday. Specials at St. Patrick's include wine red and wafers, Sunday roast, and the hangover (dry bread, water, and advil that is served automatically if you come in and put your head down on a table).

Friend Co-op

A co-op where we all buy an apartment building together and live out our best communal lives. The monthly meeting banter alone makes this a dream come true.

Vancouver Island Rail

We want to revitalise and twin the existing tracks to service the majority of the Vancouver Island population. Bonus rail cars at the back will act as a pop-up store and cafe that support local businesses and stop in towns across the island every Saturday. Choo-choo-choose rail!
